DLES14 Workshop at FAU Erlangen
The 14th Workshop on Direct and Large Eddy Simulation (DLES14) was held in Erlangen (Germany) April 10-12, 2024. During four days, we had 6 keynote talks, 125 contributed talks, 6 coffee breaks. We hope that you all enjoyed the Workshop, and also the wonderful weather that we could enjoy in Nürnberg during our social event. We like to thank all the participants for a memorable event, and everybody that helped to make the event run smoothly! The next DLES15 will be held in Delft in 2026. See you there!

We also showed the labs of the Institute of Fluid Mechanics (LSTM) in Erlangen. Here, Prof. Stefan Becker explains our aerodynamic wind tunnel. In the background, the LSTM water tunnel.
The conference venue was perhaps not the most modern, but nicely suited for our conference to allow for short distances between the sessions, and a lot of space for discussions:
During the social event, we visited the Imperial Castle in Nürnberg, the rock-cut beer storage underground, and a true Franconian beer cellar for dinner.
The organisers of DLES14: Prof. Cristian Marchioli (University of Udine), Philipp Schlatter (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg), Maria Vittoria Salvetti (University of Pisa), Stefan Hickel (TU Delft):
The DLES14 is organised together with ERCOFTAC and the EuroHPC Centre of Excellence in Exascale CFD (CEEC).
